One of the great pleasures of owning a Steam Deck is the chance to re-visit, or discover and play, older PC games. Unfortunately most of the these will not have FSR upscaling built-in, so if you want a higher Frames Per Second gameplay experience you can only turn down the in-game quality settings.
However, the Steam Deck at it's Steam OS level, has built-in FSR that you can use instead to improve the performance of any game that doesn't have native FSR support - just remember to run the game in Windows Windowed mode, reduce the in-game render resolution and turn the Steam OS scaling option to FSR.
