When you touch a metal,
When you touch a metal, it feels cold because it quickly conducts heat away from your hand. If you have a wooden spoon and a steel spoon both at room temperature, the steel spoon feels colder because it conducts heat away from your hand quicker.
Different materials have different abilities to conduct and transfer thermal energy. In this experiment, we will look at how good of a thermal conductor steel, brass, aluminum, and copper are.
When the metal bars are submerged in hot water, thermal energy is transferred from the hot water to the bottom of these bars.
