Willy Paul, a prominent Kenyan musician, began his career in the gospel scene. However, he made a controversial switch to secular music.  Frustrated by negativity from fellow gospel artists and a perceived lack of support, he felt stifled creatively. He craved authenticity and expressed a desire to explore different musical styles.  Leaving the gospel industry wasn't about rejecting faith, but about being true to himself and his music.
