How to paint an abstract
How to paint an abstract with acrylic paint. Orbs and lines abstract with lots of shading and highlighting using acrylic paint. This design can be painted on any background colours. Add visual texturing with acrylics and criss-crossing brushstrokes. Easy acrylic painting on canvas. Paint this on any size canvas. The options are endless! Happy Painting!
Painting Instructions:
@0:00 Paint canvas black
(Paint entire canvas with black acrylic paint and allow to dry.)
@0:02 Paint canvas with red
(Add red paint to the canvas using a flat paintbrush. Add a layer of random brushstrokes as shown.)
@0:21 Paint canvas with yellow
(Add yellow paint to the canvas using a flat paintbrush. Add a layer of random brushstrokes as shown.)
@0:40 Add layers of paint
(Layer paint by alternating between red and yellow acrylic paint until the canvas is completely covered.)
@1:30 Allow paint to dry
(Before continuing, allow the paint on the canvas to dry completely.)
@1:32 Draw design
(Draw the orbs and lines design onto the dry canvas with a ruler, circle template and a black paint marker.)
@2:51 Add shading
(Shade the orb and lines with black acrylic paint and an angle shader paintbrush. Water down the black paint with a little water to make it easier to apply the paint. Dip longer tip of paintbrush into the paint. Work paint into the brush and apply it to one side of the lines and orbs design, as shown.)
@6:53 Add highlighting
(Highlight the orb and lines with a mixture of yellow and white acrylic paint and an angle shader paintbrush. Water down the paint with a little water to make it easier to apply the paint. Dip longer tip of paintbrush into the paint. Work paint into the paintbrush and apply it to one side of the lines and orbs design, as shown.)

Acrylic paint (black, red, and yellow), angled shader paintbrush, black paint marker, flat paintbrush, white charcoal pencil, ruler, circle template, paint palette, water and rinse cup and canvas (painted with black acrylic paint. paint is applied to the canvas using a flat brush and criss-crossing brushstrokes. The painted background painting is dry before drawing guidelines with the white charcoal pencil.
