A huge male black bear

Watching black bears in Minnesota, USA is a real thrill. Being on foot and up close with these magnificent animals is very special. This big male appeared on the scene and wandered around grazing on the lush grass. He then had a good rub up against a tree. First his backside got the treatment and then he stood to give his back a good scratch. All the time nibbling on grass. In the woods there were many ravens making a real racket with contributions from other birds including woodpeckers. A great setting to watch a huge male black bear wander around.
