NCIS may be one of the most popular network dramas on TV today, but the network wasn’t so sure about it when it first premiered in 2003. The JAG spinoff was originally called Naval NCIS, due to concern that viewers wouldn’t know what it was about, but this meant that the show’s full name was Naval Naval Criminal Investigation Service.
