With the recent Patch update 7.0.5.0, Bungie shook up the sandbox and made some massive change to the PvE meta with some buffs and nerfs. Rapid Fire Snipers in particular got 2 huge buffs, with 1 more buff coming next season, and the Cloudstrike can take advantage of these changes like no other. It can dish out a lot of damage now.
