It is truly an excellent lens to use for portrait, concert photography, product photography, and many other applications. The lens is truly sharp, one of the sharpest lens I've ever used in general, and it produces stunning result. It's not labeled as a pro lens, and not as expensive as the pro lens, but it can definitely create pro results. Such a wonderful lens for medium telephoto focal length with relatively large aperture.
