From 4 to 6 Lanes! The Expressway Revolution in Andhra Pradesh
The Renigunta-Naidupeta Highway in Andhra Pradesh has undergone significant development and improvement. This crucial roadway serves as a lifeline for the region, connecting various cities, towns, and villages and contributing significantly to the economic and social development of the area.
The Renigunta-Naidupeta Highway passes through diverse terrains and landscapes. It plays a vital role in facilitating the movement of goods and people between Renigunta and Naidupeta and connecting to other major cities like Tirupati and Chennai. The highway also serves as a crucial link for pilgrims visiting the renowned Tirupati Balaji Temple, one of India's most frequented pilgrimage destinations.
Over the years, the highway witnessed an increase in traffic volume, leading to congestion and safety concerns. The government initiated highway extension works to address these issues and provide a seamless travel experience. One of the primary objectives was to widen the existing four-lane highway to a six-lane expressway. The MEIL has taken up the task of six-laning this highway to a length of around 58 KM. We are executing this project for the National Highway Authority of India in Hybrid Annuity Mode.
