Indian Parliament deliberates on complex
Indian Parliament deliberates on complex matters and needs technical expertise to understand them better. Parliament Committees help by providing a forum where Members engage with domain experts and government officials to understand issues better. They also provide a forum to build a consensus across political parties. Set up first in 1993, these committees examine policy issues in their respective Ministries and make suggestions to the government. There are 24 Departmentally Related Standing Committees or DRSCs.
