★ Step By Step Guide on How to Grow Sweet Potatoes in Water at home!
Place the sweet potato in a jar of water, keep the top half of the potato exposed by placing 4 toothpicks into the 4 sides of the potato. The pointed end with 'eyes' should be down in the water. (But if you cannot figure out which side is up and which side is down, in my experience, as long as you give the vine enough space to grow upward, you should be fine!) In a few weeks (7 weeks for me), a vine with several stems will begin to sprout!!
As the stems grow longer, you could snip the stems off and propagate them in water. After you see substantial root growth, you could then later transplant into soil. When it's time, you can welcome your baby sweet potatoes!!! Good luck on all of you who decided to try it yourself, and have LOTS OF FUN!!! - Love, Jolene
