In this video I show you my "single solenoid motor", made from scrap parts.
The flyingwheel is from a cassettedeck and the solenoid from an old VCR.
On the back of the flyingwheel I glued a neodymium magnet that passes a "reed switch".
When the reed switch closes, the solenoid gets powered and gives the wheel enough inertia to spin another round.

The capacitor (1000mF) is to keep the solenoid powered for a little longer, because the reed switch falls off too quickly.

It looks and sounds a bit like an old "steam engine" from the past.
This is not a "perpetuum mobile" or any kind of "free energy device". It is powered by the 9 Volt battery and won't work without external power.
