This DIY video shows how to troubleshoot, test and replace the ignition coils, spark plug caps, and spark plugs on the Kawasaki V-twin engines, including the FD590V, FD440V, FD501D, FD501V, and FD611V.  Check the Pinned Comment or below for Timestamps, Part Numbers, and Torque Values:

00:24  Diagnostics - poor engine performance, especially with PTO engaged
02:36  Diagnostics - checklist of items and method
03:45  Check spark with a spark tester (Lisle 20610)

05:44  Start repair - remove the spark plug (new plugs are NGK BMR6A)
06:24  Remove the coil (8mm)
07:28  Remove the spark plug cap from the coil wire (turn counterclockwise)

09:07  Repair option for some conditions
10:01  Bench testing the coil and spark plug cap

15:05  New parts on the bench:
           Coils: Kawasaki 21121-2083
           Caps: Kawasaki 21130-2060

16:39  Install the new spark plug caps
18:09  Info on the old and new spark plugs (NGK BMR6A, blister pack 97821)
19:50  Spark plug gap is 0.024 - 0.028"

20:26  Install the spark plug, torque is 150 inch-lbs (17 Nm)
20:56  Install the new coil (8mm)    

22:14  Starting up with the new parts - a big difference!
24:52  Spark tester results with the new parts
