Various of men standing next to vehicles covered in debris A convoy of trucks belonging to U.S. contractor Kellog Brown and Root came under attack on Saturday morning on the outskirts of Baghdad, in the district known as Tarmiya. According to a U.S. soldier at the scene, the convoy was first hit by an improvised explosive device (IED). One vehicle was abandoned at the attack site after soldiers pulled the driver out of the cab. Further down the road, another vehicle came under fire from an rocket propelled grenade (RPG). The driver of that vehicle, according to soldiers, was evacuated. Meanwhile as many as five U.S. Soldiers were reported dead after clashes in Baiji on Friday, according to people in the town. Witnesses said a firefight took place in the in the market area of the town - 175 kilometres north of the capital Baghdad. U.S. helicopters arrived shortly after and fired on the area destroying a house and damaging several shops according to witnesses. No Iraqi casualties were reported.
