Are you frustrated because you want to read as much as you can but you can never find the time to pick up a book? I noticed as I got older and busier that I was reading less and less every year. Audible was an absolute game changer! I was able to listen to all the books I wanted to and it was all during the down time moments where reading a physical book was impossible (driving my car, doing the dishes, out on a run, working in the yard..). This is the first lecture in the Cognitive Neuroscience course. It outlines the history of brain science from early philosophical inquiries through the biological and psychological advances that modern science has made possible. This discipline is about the merging of the biological and psychological sciences and allows us to look at how the cellular machinery of the nervous system gives rise to our perceptual reality.
This was the first undergraduate course that I ever taught and this was my first ever lecture. There are many things I wish I could have done better and nerves had me talking fast at times but the content is rich and I think it is worth diving into and exploring! I absolutely love studying the brain and I hope that this course gives others a way to learn this material in a stress free way.
The videos in this course have been edited to remove personal information, class specific information and sections where students were asking questions (I don't have their permission to share their questions).
