It's California Chrome's birthday today in Japan! They are one day ahead of the US, so it's already the 18th in Japan! I decided to share this birthday tribute one day ahead of time (in the US) so that it gives people time to watch before it's over. The theme of this video is all about hugs and kisses, which California Chrome received many throughout the years. He has been treated with lots of love and affection his life. And it all began not long after he was born. I like to imagine that this was at the root of all his success. He connected well with humans and as a result he became intelligent and worked hard to become a superstar racehorse. Sometimes a little love and appreciation can go a very long way! I dedicate this video tribute to California Chrome and to Marianne Malczewski who has been there for California Chrome, every single year. She has been so gracious to sent him his favorite cookies every year for his birthday and for Christmas too. When Chrome was still in the US, Marianne visited him bringing cookies in person and she brought a cake for the staff. California Chrome attracts the most caring and compassionate people on earth, like Marianne. Perhaps, it's the magic of California Chrome, in spirit to gravitate only the best souls on the planet!
