Making a confident graphics card
Making a confident graphics card comparison in this current GPU generation can be a tough ask. We waited years for a new generation of graphics cards and then 17 turned up in quick succession to bloat out the shelves of every retailer around the globe… There’s not a lot of clear air between them either, and with similar naming schemes and ever-changing pricing, it’s difficult to always know where they rank.
So that’s why we’ve created this simple graphics card comparison guide to show where each GPU in this generation stacks up. We’ve run the industry standard 3DMark Time Spy DX12 test on all the current generation GPUs to give you an easily replicable benchmark for you to put your current hardware up against. We’ve only taken the specific GPU score, that way you can see where your existing card sits in the stack, and what GPUs line up around it.
We’ve also created a second ranking, covering the price/performance ratios of the different GPUs, albeit with an admittedly slightly janky 3DMark points per dollar metric.
