This unedited, real-time video shows the actual process of attaching an approx. 7 ft solid wood edge band strip to a plywood panel.
The wood strip is 3/4" wide by 1 1/4" thick - it is warmed up in the machine's pre-heater seen across the top.
After a few minutes of warming the "glue side" of strip, regular yellow or white glue is applied and the strip is placed on the main heating element.
We've also applied a line of glue to the panel edge, then placed the panel in the machine and activated the clamps (first horizontal, then vertical)
After approx. 3 minutes the panel was removed and a BH-556 Edge Lipping Planer was used to trim edgeband flush with the panel surface.
The close-up at the end of the video shows how quickly the glue has set on the wood strip without the need for RF (radio frequency systems) or chemical catalysts.
Thinner edgeband will need even less pre-heating and clamping time in the machine.

The MOBIL edge banding press (formerly known as HESS Press) is available in 8 foot working length (MOBIL 2500) and 10 foot working length (MOBIL 3000) models direct from
