A journey on the Paris
A journey on the Paris Metro between the two stations serving Porte Dauphine, the westbound terminus of Line 2. On reaching Porte Dauphine station, rather than reverse and return eastwards, metro trains continue in the same direction round a loop (not publicly advertised to passengers) to enter a dedicated eastbound platform to form the service back towards Nation.

Porte Dauphine station is on a loop, so the westbound/drop-off and eastbound platforms are slightly offset.
Porte Dauphine (Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny) is a station of the Paris Métro. It is the western terminus of Line 2. Nearby, one can transfer to the RER C at Avenue Foch station (with no direct transfer). Paris Dauphine University is nearby.
The station contains one of the three remaining "dragonfly" roofed Métro entrances by Hector Guimard (1867–1942), the Art Nouveau architect who was originally commissioned by the Compagnie du Métropolitain de Paris (CMP) in 1899 to design the entrances for the Métro stations. It is the only roofed entrance that is original, not reconstructed, and on its original site.
The Porte Dauphine station was inaugurated on 13 December 1900. At the time, Line 2 had only been completed as far as Charles de Gaulle – Étoile. It now runs from Porte Dauphine around the northern part of Paris, through Montmartre, around to its eastern terminus at the Place de la Nation. It is named after Porte Dauphine, a gate in the 19th-century Thiers wall of Paris. Its subtititle honours Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny.

Line 2 is one of the sixteen lines of the Paris Métro rapid transit system in Paris, France. Situated almost entirely above the former city walls (boulevards extérieurs), it runs in a semi-circle in the north of Paris.
As its name suggests, Line 2 was the second line of the Métro to open, with the first section put into service in December 1900; it adopted its current configuration in April 1903, running between Porte Dauphine and Nation. There have been no changes in its service pattern since.
At 12.4 km (7.7 mi) in length, it is the seventh-busiest line of the system, with 92.1 million passengers in 2004. Slightly over 2 km (1.2 mi) of the line is built on an elevated viaduct with four aerial stations.

The MF 2000 (officially called the MF 01) is a model of steel-wheeled electrical multiple units used on Paris's Metro system. The cars first arrived in December 2007 and delivery will be completed by 2015. RATP ordered 160 trains or 800 cars in 2001, to replace the aging MF 67. It is used on Line 2, Line 5, and Line 9.
The MF 01 was first introduced to the press on June 17, 2005, but it would not be until January, 2006 that the first trains would undergo testing on the system. Commercial service on Line 2 began on June 11, 2008, with all of Line 2 being equipped with the new rolling stock by March, 2011.

Between 1900 and 1913, Hector Guimard was responsible for the first generation of entrances to the underground stations of the Paris Métro. His Art Nouveau designs in cast iron and glass dating mostly to 1900, and the associated lettering that he also designed, created what became known as the Métro style (style Métro) and popularized Art Nouveau.
A large number of his Paris Métro station entrances, including all of the large pavilions such as the one at Bastille, were demolished. The only full, roofed enclosures left are the original one at Porte Dauphine and the reconstructed ones at Abbesses and Châtelet, although many of the fenced entrances remain or have been rebuilt.
