The Super Mario Bros Movie
The Super Mario Bros Movie comes out this week and I decided that while we get a fun, animated version of the Mario story, people should also have access to a horrifying, creepy version of the same tale! Why? …it’s just what I do I guess 😛
Anyway, this story focuses on Mario trying to gain a sense of self worth while rescuing his brother from another realm full of mold and fungus covered creatures who have asked him to help save their princess from the same monster that took his brother. But is there something more sinister stirring beneath the words of the toadstool people? ….. Yeah.
I start by adapting toad into a creepy, fungus, Last of Us inspired zombie man. Next, I adapt Mario, but not really into a creepy version, just into our protagonist. Then, I make Bowser into a more demon like dragon turtle. Finally, spoiler for the story, I turn Princess Peach into the Fungal Queen of the lands who wants to conquer all.
