Welcome to the VERY first My First LeapPad book runthrough video on my new channel! As the 3rd video in my series "My First LeapPad," I am FINALLY making book runthroughs for this toy! Bringing back GREAT memories from the awesome early 2000s (2000-2004) for you guys!!! :)

Originally released in 2001, the My First LeapPad is a spinoff product of the regular LeapPad aimed towards kids aged 3-6. The books are flipped vertically instead of traditionally for the og LeapPad. More information about this toy is on the first video (Circuit Bent My First LeapPad) if you wanna learn more!

Leap's Big Day (2001) is the name of the DEMO book for the My First LeapPad (when compared to Leap Into Learning for the regular LeapPad). It is the ONLY book for this toy that does NOT require a cartridge to work, and it belongs to the Discovery section of the My First LeapPad library. Compared to the regular LeapPad demo book, THIS ONE has two sides! A story side about Leap trying to get his favorite kite back, and an activity side featuring fun learning activities with EVERYONE from Alphaville (the town where Leap, Lily, Tad, etc. live in). The narrator for this demo book is Christiane Crawford (on both sides), while the narrator for SOME of the games is Julie Stevens.

The story for Leap's Big Day is quite simple! It is about Leap, the OLDEST of 3 kids in the Frog Family, LOSING his favorite kite whilst being outside on his skateboard. Through VARIOUS modes of transportation (train, boat, plane, hot air balloon, bus), he sets off to catch the kite! As soon as Leap comes back home, he tells EVERYONE in his family about the "big day" he has had. BUT, we see that Leap's favorite kite has been lost, AGAIN! :(

The activity side features the following activities (and a brief description of each).

Counting Farm - Leap (as a farmer) is working on the farm and helps us out by counting animals. The song "I'm Farmer Leap" will be used in a future intro of mine! :)

Shapes and Colors - Leap, Lily and Tad drive strange looking cars.

Mystery Game - We see Lily and Tad discovering random objects that make silly everyday sounds.

The Paper Piano - A 17 key piano on a piece of paper! You can switch instruments to trumpet, clarinet and band (that's basically the piano, clarinet and trumpet all in one). Touching on ALL of the instruments in the music game will make them play "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "If You're Happy and You Know It." Here, you'll hear me play fragments of REAL songs (compared to JUST playing the musical scale from low C to high E)!

What Will I Be Today? - Leap imagines what he wants to be when he grows up! Will he be a doctor, a mailman (called a postman in British English), or a firefighter?!

Parts of the Body - Casey's OWN page has us learn about the parts of our body. A twisted rendition of the popular nursery rhyme "Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes" can be created by YOU when touching the music game icon. Otherwise, when touching the lilypad icon with your pen, you'll IDENTIFY body parts.

Count and Sing Express - Leap and his friends ride a train whilst counting and playing music!
