Part 3 of our backcountry camping trip in Algonquin Park Ontario, via Canoe, August 22-28 2021. A full week in the wilderness of Ontario with our dog! This video features day 5, 6 & 7 of the 7 day trip.

On day 5 we explore old farm remnants on Burntroot Lake and an abandoned alligator. We head back to camp for a rest day and cook up some pancakes on the fire. For the ladies who camp - this day includes a snippet of how to wash your hair in the backcountry with Leave No Trace principles  using a Sea To Summit camp sink.
On day 6 we set out for Catfish Lake and stop at the abandoned root cellar on Burntroot Lake. Jen catches a spider web in the face, and almost falls out of the canoe - very dramatic, separate incidents. We find the coolest best campsite on Catfish Lake.. then we leave it behind because it's on a giant cliff and we are responsible dog owners, and also don't want to scale a mountain, just to use the loo. At our site we settle in for a nice evening on the lake. James goes fishing and explores another alligator near by.
Day 7 we travel back towards Cedar Lake, we check out the largest waterfall in Algonquin Park and get caught in a downpour. Heavy rain and a chat about poop end the trip as we arrive at Cedar put in. Awesome Northern Algonquin loop!
