The Butcher Wants to be Alone - Taggart (1985)

A clip from the Taggart episode Knife Edge (1985), where butcher George Bryce (Alex Norton) contemplates what he has just done, only to receive an unexpected visit from work colleague Rosy (Corinne Harris), who ill advisedly sees him as a potential love interest. My chief reason for uploading this was the music, but the scene itself is powerful in so many ways. I love the backdrop of the towerblock behind Bryce's cottage when Rosie comes calling that is a time capsule to the 1980's. And the music itself is reflective of the inner turmoil of Bryce's character, who has been scattering body parts all over Scotland. Surely then he is the killer? But in Taggart it is never that simple...
