Hey everyone, it's Evangeline and today we're taking a look at our Rhino Rack RVP roof rack system here on our 2022 Honda CR-V. So you've got your CR-V, you've got that versatility but what if you also wanna carry around some accessories like kayaks or a roof box or a roof basket. What you then need is a roof rack system. So this is a very sleek system. It's almost factory in how it looks but it also has a great weight capacity and allows you to carry those fun accessories. Now this depends on what trim of a CR-V you have because some have a naked roof where you do not have rails at all.

This one is your flush rail design where it just sits on your vehicle and there's no opening underneath. So because you have flush rails you need the custom fit kit which is what I will show you here today. So this fits perfectly around your flush rails but if you want to, you can even take the bars off and on. This stays on there just to make that process easier. Now with having those fixed mounting points you also have a fixed crossbar spread.

So center to center for each crossbar, it's 27 inches apart and some accessories require a certain crossbar spread. So double check that, especially for your roof boxes, roof baskets to make sure they work. Let's talk about roof clearances. There's two measurements there. One is distance between the crossbar and the roof.

The other is the height added to top of the roof. So this one's between crossbar and roof is two and one eighth of an inch and then the height added is going to be three and a half inches. So it's on the very sleek side. This isn't as much space as some other options. So if you have roof racks or roof boxes and accessories with clamps that go around you wanna make sure that they have enough space to do so.

And then on top, your cargo let's say you're carrying skis and snowboards they only sit three and a half inches above your vehicle. So with those extra tall bindings, you're gonna have to consider accessories that give you more lift. There's zero overhang as well. So if you're lifting things up and into or onto your roof rack this is definitely something to consider. You can't put your accessories out towards the edge but you also do have a slight ramp so that might help you out. Now the security for this roof rack is you have these metal lock cores keyed alike on the edges of your towers. So unlock that door and you now have access into your T-track channel if you're using T-track mounted accessories. But this is also where you can take off your roof bars. If you are using your T-track accessories, that's great because then you can maximize your crossbar length, they mount on top. The downside to the Rhino Rack style is with these vortex strips, you have to take them out and then cut them around your accessory. So if you do have T-track mounted accessories, go ahead, pick up an extra set of these vortex strips so you're ready. So for the amount of accessories and cargo you can carry with this, you have a 165 pound weight capacity and the shortest distance so between two towers here in the back is gonna be 35 inches. So that's how much crossbar space you have for clamps that go around the bars or for cargo. So this includes almost everything you need to install the roof rack but there's some extra things that you might have to bring to the table, not just to install it but maybe make life a little easier. One is the Moki doorstep. I clip this right into the door and that gives you that extra height and traction. Helpful when you are loading up cargo. And then there's gonna be a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten down those crossbars. We do get an included Allen teeth that has a T15 bit on the end, but I recommend using your own. And finally, get a 10 millimeter socket or wrench. Now let's take a look at that install process. So the first thing you need to do is take off these rubber covers and I use a T15 torque bit to do so. So to set up the crossbars and the feet it is gonna be a slightly confusing process at first but it's actually very simple and I'll guide you through it. So the first thing you wanna do is get those vortex strips and you wanna put those in those crossbars. Then get your feet and use included keys to unlock that door and then get the feet lined up with your crossbar. You're gonna have to push that foot into it with some force. Now see that hole over there Make sure that the hole in the tower is lined up with the hole in your crossbar. You may have to hit the foot again just to get that really lined up before you put your screw in there and tighten down with a Phillips head screwdriver. Next, you're gonna se
