A Fishy Story 不脫襪的人 (1989)

一九六七年, 左翼策動的暴動正席捲香港, 鍾鎮濤是一個白牌的士佬, 靠賺女人的錢貼補生活, 張曼玉是一個拜金主義者. 張遷入鍾的樓下, 鍾看不起張的虛榮, 張亦鄙視他的低層生活. 但張需要鍾的車充場面, 每天送張交際, 也看到她在片場被人欺侮, 於是兩人合作, 典賣一切, 買了一部的士, 但不幸捲入示威群眾, 被捉到警署去, 於是鍾的有錢飯票把兩人救了出去. 鍾不理暴動者的警告, 不肯罷駛, 結果車毁人傷, 張以為自己帶給鍾惡運, 決定跟一個男人遠赴美國. 碼頭內, 張焦急地看著時間, 而鍾亦趕去碼頭.

The setting is Hong Kong, 1967, and the British territory is in the grip of the most fierce riots in its history. In this turbulent time, an offbeat love affair develops between two neighbours. Maggie is an aspiring actress and social climber. Kenny is an unlicensed cab driver and rich-woman's boy toy. Her dream of starting a new life in America threatens to tear them apart, until Maggie finds herself in a situation from which only Kenny can save her.
