Bell UH-1 Iroquois

The Bell UH-1 Iroquois nicknamed Huey is a military helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter for the United States Army. The Bell UH-1 was built primarily for medical evacuation and utility during the Vietnam War. It is powered by a single turboshaft engine, with two-bladed main and tail rotors. The first combat operation of the UH-1 was in the service of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Approximately 7,000 UH-1 aircraft saw service in Vietnam. The first flight took place on the 20th of October 1956 and it was later introduced to the US Army in 1959. Primary users were United States Army, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and the Australian Army. There were 16,000 UH-1 Built between 1956 and 1987. There are still some Bell UH-1 Iroquois operating under limited services.
