For over 15 years, AC/R Technicians across the globe have used the G5Twin as their go-to machine for refrigerant recovery of all types. 🔧 Establish a baseline by performing the Bench Test. This will let you know how the G5 may perform on the job, or if it requires maintenance. G5Twin Diagnostic Test
🔧 Use 10-12 gauge extension cords to avoid voltage drop and performance issues.
🔧 Never restrict the airflow of the G5Twin. Do not cover the machine or block any of its grilles during operation.
🔧 Always use 3/8" hoses on all connections in the recovery setup. The G5 was designed around the greater flow of 3/8" hoses, and using them will help to unlock the true potential of the machine.
🔧 Never use 1/4" for recovery with the G5Twin. 1/4" hoses are highly restrictive and will prevent full liquid flow from reaching the machine.
🔧 Remove as many restrictions as possible to enable full flow. 1️⃣: Remove access valve cores from service ports using a Valve Core Removal Tool. Valve cores block up to 90% of all flow. 2️⃣: Remove all core depressors from hose fittings, as they are not necessary when valve cores are removed. Core depressors block an additional 50% of flow.
🔧 Check the inlet filter screen before the job. If it is dirty or clogged, this will present another input restriction which will slow recovery.
🔧 Use a new Inline Filter Dryer before every job. This will help protect the machine from debris and acids in the recovered refrigerant. This is especially important when working on burnout systems.
🔧 Always recover Liquid Refrigerant First. Liquid refrigerant can be up to 300x more dense than vapor, so it has a significant impact on recovery times. The G5Twin is the only recovery machine on the market capable of true liquid recovery.
🔧 Fully open the valves on the recovery cylinder to avoid any additional output restrictions.
🔧 Periodically run a capful of oil through the input side of the G5. This helps to recondition the seals as well as scavenge out debris & acids left behind from refrigerant.
🔧 Always store the G5 with the valves open to prevent unnecessary wear on the internal seals.
