In this video, Dr. Brian Abelson, who is an expert in anatomical and biomechanical systems, demonstrates an effective technique for releasing the Teres Minor/Major and Infraspinatus muscles. These muscles are critical structures in treating shoulder problems as they play a crucial role in stabilizing the head of the humerus in the glenoid fossa during arm movements.

The Teres Minor/Major muscles originate from the posterior aspect of the scapula and insert onto the greater tubercle of the humerus. Their primary function is to externally rotate the arm and stabilize the head of the humerus in the glenoid fossa during arm movements.

The Infraspinatus muscle is located on the posterior aspect of the scapula and inserts onto the greater tubercle of the humerus. It is responsible for externally rotating the arm and stabilizing the head of the humerus in the glenoid fossa during arm movements.

When these muscles become tight or restricted, they can cause pain and dysfunction in the shoulder joint. Dr. Abelson's Motion Specific Release treatment system can effectively release these muscles, allowing for improved shoulder function and decreased pain.

MOTION SPECIFIC RELEASE (MSR)
Motion Specific Release (MSR) is a “Treatment System”, combining the benefits of various and diverse therapeutic perspectives.  MSR has one singular focus, the resolution of musculoskeletal conditions.  Read Dr. Abelson's blog on MSR https://www.kinetichealth.ca/post/mot...
