This time we came to New Mexico to visit the mysterious staircase in Loretto Chapel!
The structure of this staircase is a double spiral, with no central column and no nails, which completely violates the cognition of modern architecture. Therefore, various urban legends have emerged. We were very lucky this time and met the curator himself to introduce us to the magic of this staircase!

This video really took me a long time to make. I listened to and re-translated it after I got home. I don’t know if it was some mysterious force, but the video was originally uploaded on Friday but the internet at home was suddenly disconnected and it wasn’t restored until Sunday. I hope you all like it!

Join us on a trip to New Mexico as we visit the mysterious staircase in Loretto Chapel, a structure that defies the laws of physics and has a surprising connection to DNA.

The church was completed in 1878, but the architect who was supposed to design the staircase passed away before he could do so. To make the second floor accessible, the nuns searched everywhere for someone to build the staircase. However, all who came to inspect the site said there wasn't enough space to construct it. So, the nuns began to pray for someone to come and build the staircase. On the ninth day, an old man appeared, riding a donkey. He asked if he could try, and with simple tools like a square, saw, and water basin for softening wood, he spent eight to nine months completing the construction. Then, he quietly left without leaving his name or asking for payment. The nuns couldn't find him afterward, and even the local wood suppliers hadn't seen him. The nuns believed it was a miracle from St. Joseph.

The staircase has 33 steps, a number with mystical and religious significance. Its double spiral, columnless structure defied architectural norms of the time, adding to its mystery. Thus, various urban legends arose, some even claiming the wood used wasn't from Earth. This could possibly connect with the Freemasons, creationist theories, and extraterrestrial civilizations.

This vlog is the first installment of my travel series in New Mexico, featuring the fascinating stories and sights of the "Land of Enchantment."
