Mahindra Scorpio is an SUV manufactured by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. It was the first SUV from the company built for the global market, The Scorpio was conceptualized and designed by the in-house integrated design and manufacturing team of M&M. The car has been the recipient of three prestigious Indian awards: the "Car of the Year" award from Business Standard Motoring as well as the "Best SUV of the Year" and the "Best Car of the Year" awards, both from BBC World Wheels.
The 3rd gen of the Scorpio was launched on 25 September 2014 with redesigned front and rear fascias and a new dashboard. A revised automatic variant of the Scorpio was launched in 2015.
Scorpio comes with 5 variants : S3, S5, S7, S9, S11
However, 4WD come in only Top Variant S11 only, 9 side facing seating available in S3 & S5 variants and 7 captain seats available in S11 variant only.
The mHawk Diesel engine holds a capacity of 2.2 L with 4 cylinders that delivers 120 PS (118 bhp; 88 kW) to 140 PS (138 bhp; 103 kW) of power and 290 N⋅m (214 lb⋅ft) to 320 N⋅m (236 lb⋅ft) of torque. The mHawk employs a top-mounted intercooler to improve turbocharger efficiency. The engine is based on the Bosch Common Rail system with solenoid injectors and fuel spray design that improves fuel efficiency. The mHawk is equipped with a two chain drive stage system and hydraulic lash adjusters.
The Mahindra Scorpio is sold across the world in countries such as: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Italy, Kenya, Nepal, Qatar, Egypt, Malaysia, Rwanda, Russia, Spain, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Turkey.In Western Europe, so as not to confuse the vehicle with the Ford Scorpio executive car, it is called the Mahindra Goa.
