Should I stay or leave? What do Hong Kong expats think？

Many people leave Hong Kong in recent years. Word on the street is that expats here in Hong Kong are contemplating over the million-dollar "to stay or leave" question due to a range of reasons including tough COVID regulations.
It is said that 93,000 residents choosed to leave Hong Kong in 2020, followed by another 23,000 in 2021. But early estimates show this year will see far more people go. Is that true?
Does this mean the "Pearl of the Orient" - a city once full of life and excitement - has lost its shine?
