William Guarnere, also known as "Wild Bill," was an American soldier who served in World War II. He was born on April 28, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Guarnere enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
Guarnere fought in many battles during the war, including the D-Day invasion of Normandy, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart for his bravery and service.
