Bosnia - New Ceasefire Deadline Approaches

Bosnian Serb guns overlooking Sarajevo and the Brcko frontline
near the strategic Posavina corridor were silent on Tuesday
(10/10) as the warring parties set conditions for the on and off
ceasefire. In the mountains overlooking Sarajevo and in the
grounds once used by Olympic athletes, there was an uneasy calm as
soldiers waited for a final ceasefire announcement. Soldiers atop
a mountain overlooking the Brcko corridor stood by as yet another ceasefire was called off. A ceasefire had been due to come into effect after midnight, but the Bosnian government chose to delay it for one more day. Zeljko Raznjatovic aka Arkan, who has been accused of recent war atrocities, insisted the Bosnians and the Croats were deliberately stalling the ceasefire to win more lands in western Bosnia. Arkan's men have been helping the Bosnian Serbs in recapturing Kljuc but the effort has been in vain.

Zeljko Raznjatovic, aka Arkan sot in Serbian - Our troops are 300
meters away from Kljuc but our operation to retake it has been
hampered because of lack of reinforcements. We have not had any
support from the left flank. We could have advanced but I have
already suffered a number of casualties - 16 dead soldiers and 8
wounded. I have given my share as a Serb volunteer guard. I have
done my best to defend the people, our homeland, monastery and
churches
