ROLEX TIFFANY WATCHES

What are Rolex Tiffany watches?  Simply put, they’re Rolex watches with the Tiffany & Co. logo on the dial.  These double-signed Rolex watches are becoming quite the rarity in recent years, with supply on the secondary market dwindling.

Rolex now has very tight control over every aspect of the production of their watches, from the movement hard at work inside the case to the dial.  As a result, the practice of co-branding the dials was discontinued decades ago in the 1990s.

Still, Tiffany & Co. Rolex dials are widely sought-after on the vintage market for their unique place in Rolex history and their value.

Let's learn more about these unique Rolex watches below.

TIFFANY & CO. AND ROLEX

Tiffany & Co. has carried many of the most sought-after Swiss luxury watch brands at their various retail locations over the past several decades, including Rolex.

The two brands entered a partnership in the 1950s that allowed Tiffany & Co. to stamp their logo on the Rolex watches sold at their stores.  This would prove to be quite troublesome for Rolex as the stamping was done by hand at their various boutique locations.

As you can imagine, there was quite a bit of inconsistency between the dials, which simply did not live up to Rolex's strict standards at the time.

Still, Tiffany & Co. stamped the logo onto Rolex dials for decades, including service replacement dials.

Rolex ultimately took control of the dial stamping, producing them solely at their factory in Geneva, Switzerland.  Even though Tiffany & Co. was no longer stamping the dials in-house with their logo, customers could still send their watches to Tiffany & Co. or Rolex for service.

When Rolex decided to discontinue the co-branded Tiffany & Co./Rolex watches, warranties on the watches sold at Tiffany boutiques became void, and the jewelry retailer stopped selling Rolex watches.  The partnership ended around the early 1990s.

TIFFANY DIALS

As a result of the inconsistency of stamping the Tiffany logo onto the dial, there are countless variations of the double logo Rolex dials.  As if that weren’t already stressful enough for potential buyers, Tiffany dial Rolex watches are also one of the most counterfeited on the secondary market, making them very difficult to authenticate.

Add on top of that. They were also produced in several locations over decades.

Authenticating a Tiffany dial Rolex can be a very tricky process, to say the least.

WHICH ROLEX MODELS HAVE TIFFANY & CO DIALS?

Tiffany carried nearly every Rolex model at their various retail locations, which means almost every Rolex model was printed with the Tiffany dial, including the following:

Air King
Explorer
Explorer II
Day-Date
Datejust
Daytona
GMT Master
GMT Master II
Oyster Perpetual
Sea-Dweller
Submariner

ARE TIFFANY DIAL ROLEX WATCHES VALUABLE?

Tiffany dial Rolex watches are becoming harder to find as vintage watch collectors snatch them up for their own collections.  As a result, they can often command upwards of double or even triple the price of a non-Tiffany logo dial.

The fact that they are no longer in production also adds significantly to their value.

For example, a very nice Rolex Submariner 1680 with a Tiffany & Co. dial sold just a few years ago at Christie's auction house for $43,750.

A GMT Master ref. 1675 with a Tiffany & Co. dial sold for around the same price at Southeby’s in 2020 for $44,100.

Tiffany & Co. Rolex watches are incredibly collectible because of the rare and quirky double logo dial.  If you have one in your watch box, consider yourself very lucky.
