In the previous video we placed beams, and set ceiling joists as a first step in framing the roof. In this video, we'll cut the rafters. For insulation purposes, we are using 2x12 Doug Fir. Our overhangs were nearly all built and attached to the walls before we lifted then, so we need to rip the tails to fit over that framing as well as cut them a little short so its easy to stack the roof.
One section has rafters that will sit in double 2x hangers, so I'll show you how we make the adjustment to the birdsmouth (spoilers, its super easy).
We had just gotten the Metabo HPT blade left saw and I love this saw. The Makita XGT is slightly heavier, but more powerful. Both great saws.
Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to form footings, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!
Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like YouTube if you plan to make an income off of that.
