How To: Install Newer Ford Flex Shift Knob on 2006-2010 Ford Explorer

Watch in HD!!! Links to skip to different parts of the video are below. I know this is a LONG one! Hey all! Next project on the Explorer was a fun one! You would not believe how big of a difference this modification makes. It seems so insignificant. But, the shifter is one of the most touched parts of the interior, second maybe to the steering wheel. You really notice it! Did I mention it was CHEAP?!? This shift knob only cost me about $12 from Ford. Thats right... $12. The part number is: 8G1Z-7213-A and you get everything you need to install except for the drill and tap. One thing I set out to do was figure out why many complained about the lock out not working properly after doing this mod. I certainly think I present a great solution. The other issue is people thinking the trans wont go into 1st gear. There is a second SHORT video coming up in the next day or so showing that situation.
