(2006) Orang Utan Republik Education Initiative. OUREI's first documentary produced by Enchanted Earth Ocean Productions. Written and narrated by Elise Bailey, this documentary explores the fascinating orangutan and its plight through amateur video footage taken by Dr. Gary Shapiro, Chairman of OUREI (part 1). Shapiro also discusses the nature of the orangutan, its social organization, sexual dimorphism, and aspects of its cognition (part 2). Finally the documentary concludes with the challenges facing the species as its population is declining due to habitat destruction and the illegal pet trade (part 3).
