After a trip to Palm Springs, designer and homeowner Leila Macdonald, principal at Schumacher Interior Designs Inc., was inspired to design a home with the mid-century modern aesthetic and lifestyle in mind. "We loved the concept of open-space living and started looking for a property that could accommodate a side split or bungalow," she says. One of her top priorities was to bring the outside in. See how she clad the walls and wood burning stone fireplace in the same Algonquin limestone as the exterior, and used texture, glazing and a neutral palette throughout. Don't miss the beautiful backyard with a sports court, outdoor entertaining zone and hot tub and pool.
