✨ In this video, I wanted to share how I arrange my playlists for gig. This was a big struggle for me when I started DJing few years back and there werent many helpful resources to guide me. Looking back though, i think it was difficult to figure a good way to organize my playlists mainly because I had not yet developed an ear to hear the differences between different shades of genres, i also had not yet decided which type of music i was mainly interested to play. Years after, I feel i have a better understanding of the sounds that I like. I hope that by going over these playlists you gain some insight into how to arrange your playlists. Maybe you pick up a trick or two from this.

I also feel I over complicated things trying to explain what I mean by 'House'. House is a big umbrella that has many sounds under it. When I use it in a playlist, it simply means non minimal, non deep, non funky, non jazzy, 4 to the floor. Because for example,  jazzy or funky tracks are very distinct so i have a separate folder for them and i avoid playing them unless i'm planning a funky/jazzy set.

At the end, please keep in mind that there is no right or wrong way to do this. DJing in general is very open to interpretation. When I say something 'doesn't work' I mean that it wouldn't work for me :)
