Kirk uses the plot hole known as the Nexus to send himself to the Enterprise-B in the 23rd century to stop himself from being pulled into the Nexus... and if Picard is sensible, he'll go back in time and arrest Tolian Soran before he can do anything.
Because only a massive idiot would not do that sort of thing.
