This session was several months
This session was several months back. Travis and I had been dreaming of surfing our little weird reef that no one else seems to like for months. It only works on certain swell angles and tides, and even then it's not very good. But, people ignore it and we were tired of surfing the other waves nearby with other people, so we had been hoping for a long time to surf it.
So, on this day I saw a tiny swell with the right angle and correct tides, and I told Travis I was going out, NMW (no matter what!!!). I thought he'd be more excited. I clearly was. Even though I was total poop, I paddled for and caught just about everything that came within my strike range. As the video shows, I even caught consecutive waves on the same set...TWICE!
Travis, on the other hand, seemed to have sand in is vajayjay. This is very unlike him at this spot. He normally froths no matter how bad it is. But on this rare day, he didn't seem to have the mojo or motivation. As I keep popping up on any little dorky bump that came my way, Travis kept missing waves, getting caught behind sectiosn, or getting bucked of his board.
He uncharateristically padded in early, while I stayed out and spazzed by myself for a little while longer. The final wave count was 31 waves to 12. Yes, I am hyper.
