Back in the '80s during the height of WWE’s popularity, there were iconic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Andre The Giant, and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake who laid the ground for WWE’s success. But another important icon of this era was Junkyard Dog. Junkyard Dog or JYD was a crowd favorite and he became one of the first wrestlers to be included in top billed fights. At the time, JYD was one of the most charismatic wrestlers who drew large crowds and sold-out arenas. But his career and rise to the top of wrestling were filled with tragedy and struggles. It included bouts with addiction, racism, and a decline in his career.
