Unboxing the Sony Xperia III (Mark 3), with a hands-on review of the camera tech, gaming performance and Game Enhancer updates, plus a specs run-through. So far I'm loving Sony's 2021 flagship smartphone, but is the Xperia 1 III one of the best mobiles right now?

You've got several updates vs the Mark 2 phone, including some camera improvements such as a dual-length telephoto lens. That Photo Pro app has a basic mode for beginners and is packed with other features and tools for photo and video capture.

Performance is as strong as ever for gaming, with loads of extra help and  upgraded recording options from the Enhancer menu. Genshin Impact played well on the Sony Xperia 1 III despite some heating issues, and a possible touchscreen problem. I'll keep on testing for the full review.

Media fans will adore that 4K OLED 120Hz screen with Sony's X1 smarts, while audio is just as strong with the Hi-Res support, LDAC action and Dolby Atmos tuning. Add in a headphone jack, expandable storage and super-durable design and you've got a proper winner.
