Unlike trout fly fishing, there are three Styles of Spey Casting, each with there own approaches, supporters and detractors. Anyone wishing to get into Spey casting with two-handed rods can get bombarded by concepts and terminology that can be bewildering.
This video is part of a series that sets out to simplify as much as possible, the world of Spey casting. Particularly it looks at the three types of line systems and relates them to the ways in which they are cast. Each casting style seeks to exploit the characteristics of the line for easy casting and fishing.
Obviously this video does not cover everything there is to say about the subject, but it is a useful generalization on the casting differences between the styles and why they exist.
