How to wash your Dyson
How to wash your Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum's filters. In normal use, both filters should be washed at least once a month. Use tap water without detergent, and allow both filters to dry for at least 24 hours, in a warm place with plenty of airflow. Check the filter is completely dry before refitting, or it could damage the motor.
Step 1. Lift the pre-filter out of the cyclone assembly.
Step 2. Rotate the post-filter anti-clockwise until the two solid black dots line up and pull the post-filter off the back of the machine. Step 3. Wash both filters with water only.
Step 4. Turn the pre-filter upside-down and tap to remove any excess debris.
Step 5. Run water over the inside and outside of the pre-filter then tap and shake the filter to expel all debris.
Step 6. Repeat the process until the water runs clear.
Step 7. Squeeze and twist with both hands to make sure the excess water is removed.
Step 8. Run water into the open side of the post filter then tap and shake the filter to expel all debris.
Step 9. Repeat the process until the water runs clear.
Step 10. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours, in a warm place with plenty of airflow
Step 11. Ensure the filters are completely dry before refitting into the machine, or it could damage the motor.
Step 12. Refit the pre-filter into the cyclone assembly.
Step 13. Refit the post-filter onto the machine. First align the two solid black dots, then rotate clockwise until the solid black dot lines up with the empty circle.
