Pronunciation Hack for Nigerian: the elusive W in doing, going, fluid.

In this video, you will understand the reason why I put W in some word transcriptions. Sometimes some people tell me my transcriptions wrong because when they look at the dictionary, they don’t see the W I often put in the my transcription.

I think you should understand that I’m a linguist, and as a linguist, we  transcribe sounds as perceived and not as the dictionary often prescribes.

The elusive W is something that perplexed so many Nigerian speakers. That’s why many pronounce doing as doo.ying, and borrowing as boh.ro.ying.
