Alan Lightman is a physicist,
Alan Lightman is a physicist, MIT professor and an accomplished novelist. Inspired by his many visits to Cambodia, Lightman’s latest novel, “The Three Flames,” is the story of a Cambodian family that struggles to find its way “after a brutal civil war that tore the country apart, with millions slaughtered by the Khmer Rouge.” Lightman is also the founder of The Harpswell Foundation, which provides housing and leadership training to female college students in Cambodia and he joined Hari Sreenivasan back in March 2020 to discuss his latest work.
