In the month of Savan, I have also brought my request before Lord Shiva. Who is called the God of Gods, who keeps time and death under his control, who is worshiped by the Gods as well as the Asuras, I bow down to that Mahadev of Gauri. Even if I don't say anything to him, he still listens to my heart. It may be a song for the world but for me it is more a prayer than a song. This song is a conversation that is happening between me and Mahadev. I hope this song will take you closer to Mahadev
MAHADEV
Shiva also known as Mahadeva is one of the principal deities of Hinduism. He is the Supreme Being in Shaivism, one of the major traditions within Hinduism. Shiva is known as The Destroyer within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity which also includes Brahma and Vishnu. In the Shaivite tradition, Shiva is the Supreme Lord who creates, protects and transforms the universe. In the goddess-oriented Shakta tradition, the Supreme Goddess (Devi) is regarded as the energy and creative power (Shakti) and the equal complementary partner of Shiva.
SHARAVAN/SAAWAN MAAS (MONTH)
The month of Shravana is very important for the entire Indian subcontinent, as it is connected to the arrival of the south-west monsoons. For many Hindus, the month of Shravana is a month of fasting. Many Hindus will fast every Monday to Shiva and/or every Tuesday to Parvati. Fasting on Tuesdays of this month is known locally as "Mangala Gauri Vrat". Shravana is considered to be a holy month in the Hindu calendar due to the numerous festivals that are celebrated during this time. Also, special worship of Shiva and fasting is observed on Mondays
