Harrison Semi Automatic Sock Knitting Machine

This video shows how the Harrison Semi-Automatic Sock Knitting Machine mechanisms work. The machine has several sets of spring controlled cams which will either raise needles up out of work, or push needles down back into work. The two functions are activated by engaging two different main levers on the machine, at the appropriate time in making heels and toes. The "semi-automatic" system means that the knitter no longer needs to raise up or push down into work, the needles involved in making heels and toes, by hand, as the machine does the work for her/him :D
This semi-automatic system is especially useful when knitting argyle socks.
