In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how to add a trendline in Excel 2016.

To add a trendline, you will first need a chart that supports trendlines. Scatter plots, line graphs, columns, most charts that you can draw a line through to connect data will support trendlines.

Make sure the chart is selected, go under the Design tab, Add Chart Element, and insert the trendline that best represents your data.

To format the trendline, select the trend-line directly within the chart and right-click it and hit Format Trendline for more options.
